Bio: My current areas of research include the demography and development of Asian societies and the social roots of health disparities (especially cancer) in the United States. I am working on a book manuscript tracing the demographic history of Mongolia during the twentieth history. In conjunction several UIC social epidemiologists, I am also working on a four-year, NCI-funded research project exploring racial and social class disparities in early diagnosis in breast cancer among women in Cook County during the 1990s.
