Job Description:

The Department of Sociology at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) seeks to hire one or more Assistant Professors. We invite applications for full-time, tenure-track positions, at the assistant professor level beginning in August 2008, pending final budgetary approval.  Candidates with research specializations in Sociology of Health and Medicine and Sociology of Work, Labor Markets, and Organizations are encouraged to apply. At least one of the positions will require interest in teaching graduate and undergraduate theory.

Applicants must have completed their Ph.D. by the time of appointment and have strong commitments to research, teaching, and supervising student theses and dissertations. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. More senior faculty may be considered.
