Mary Jean Cravens Awarded Rue Bucher Award PDF Print E-mail

The Department of Sociology at the University of Illinois at Chicago is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2007 Rue Bucher Memorial Award for Qualitative Studies in Social Process is Mary Jean Cravens. The award is for her dissertation research on "Men in the Animal Rights Movement." Ms. Cravens, who is Assistant Professor of Sociology at the College of Du Page and a doctoral candidate at UIC in sociology, plans to use the $1000 award for research travel expenses and transcription services. The Bucher Award committee and the entire sociology departments extends its congratulations to Mary Jean Cravens.
