Bio: Kerry Ann Rockquemore is Associate Professor of African-American Studies and Sociology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her scholarship focuses on racial identity development among mixed-race children, interracial family dynamics, and the politics of racial categorization in the United States. She is author of  Beyond Black: Biracial Identity in America (2001) and Raising Biracial Children (2005), as well as over 20 articles and book chapters. Her work has been featured in various media outlets including the New York Times and ABC’s 20/20. Professor Rockquemore is a popular and engaging public speaker and frequently lectures on multiracial issues.
